Jesus Friends Assembly, Bayshore, New York, is a parish and mission of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG. Founded on Mother’s Day May 13, 2007, its central truth as given in John 15:14 is “You are my friends if you do whatsoever I command you”. And it is from there that we received the name and identity of our parish – JESUS FRIENDS!
OUR MISSION: Expressing the love of God, exercising His power and experiencing freedom is our mission. We believe that love precedes the demonstration of power and a life of freedom. We conduct ourselves as Christians in that knowledge, and position ourselves as agents of God’s love. Jesus Friends Assembly is a keenly loving church, family church, blessed with an abundance of brotherly unity of faith, of service and of worship.
RCCG WORLDWIDE – see www.rccg.org has a vision to spread the Word of God to the ends of the earth. It is a Bible believing church, where the teaching and a missionary approach emphasize the proper conduct and moral behavior of people. The church has an appeal to all types of people worldwide, with a determination to teach people in their various geographical areas, stages of secular life and levels of spiritual development. The General Overseer of the church is Pastor E. A. Adeboye . Recently one of America’s leading weekly newsmagazine listed our General Overseer among its inaugural Top 50 Global Elite 2008. Here in North America, under the RCCGNA leadership of Pastor James Fadel, the representative of the General Overseer and Chairman of the RCCGNA Board of Coordinators, BOC, there are well over 400 parishes already and counting. Much earlier, in Lagos, Nigeria, the church was founded in 1952 by Pastor Josiah Akindayomi , and since then, the church has grown to over 8,000 parishes worldwide with a total congregational strength of over one million people. Presently, there are established missions in many African countries, as well as Europe, Asia, the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, South America and Australia.
RCCG has also been involved in establishing schools, rehabilitation centers, child care and support centers.
